Meet Nancy

​Across four decades of communion with horses, Nancy Camp discovered a profound truth—these majestic beings were her greatest teachers, guiding her toward more compassionate and ethical approaches to training and care. This journey of mutual understanding led her to become a certified Connected Riding instructor and collaborate with Peggy Cumming on the influential book, Connect with Your Horse from the Saddle.

Nancy's passion for equine advocacy flows through her pen. After years of writing and illustrating insightful articles about horses, she crafted her definitive work, In It for the Horses, A Journey from Whips to Whispers, distilling a lifetime of wisdom into its pages. Her commitment to challenging conventional wisdom continues through her thought-provoking "Myth Busters" blog and monthly Substack posts, where she dismantles outdated training practices while offering enlightened alternatives for horse enthusiasts.

Though her roots stretch back to the prairies of Illinois where she earned a Masters Degree in Art History from Northern Illinois University, Nancy now draws inspiration from the majestic mountains of Idaho, starting each day surrounded by breathtaking vistas and the sounds of diverse wildlife from a nearby wetland—a fitting backdrop for a woman who has dedicated her life to honoring the Spirit of the Horse.
